Prepurchase Consultation
There is a wide range of boat choices available and knowing which will suit your needs can sometimes
be confusing. I am happy to help you sort through the options and will accompany you to showings to
help find the right fit for you and your cruising needs.
Local and Regional Delivery
I am Florida-based and am available to pick up and deliver your boat anywhere along the Gulf coast,
Florida Keys, US East Coast from Florida up to Maine, inland rivers, or the Bahamas. Perhaps you
bought a boat but you do not have the time to bring it to your home port or you are
not confident in your skills to do so. I will bring your boat to its new home. With crew and vessel
safety foremost in mind, I plan carefully and always keep an eye on current and future weather conditions,
tides, current, local conditions, and other vessel traffic. Owners are welcome to crew or I can provide my
own or we can do a combination.
Maybe you would like to take your family or
friends boating in the Florida Keys or the Bahamas but your own schedule keeps you so busy you need to maximize your available time.
We will pick up your boat and bring it to the port of your choice where it will await your arrival. After your
vacation cruise, we will return it to your home port. Trust us to bring your boat to the location of your choice.
While I am aboard your boat, you will receive regular updates on the status. Once I arrive at your boat,
I will share my location with you through Google Maps or Nebo.
You will always know where your boat is.
I make every effort to know a vessel and its systems before leaving port. I monitor system operations and
believe in being pro-active to avoid problems. I do not believe I am hired to merely "drive the boat" and
if it breaks someone else will fix it. If I can provide service to prevent or lessen a problem, I will.
New Owner Orientation and Training
This is hands-on, in-the-water training on your new boat. You may have had smaller boats and have now stepped up
to a larger size or this may be your first boat.
There are many challenges in learning how to safely operate your new pride and joy. I will coach you through
the basics of operating the major systems on the boat, docking and undocking, refueling, line handling,
communication with crew, navigation, and anchoring.
Owners are always welcome on any delivery. A certain amount of training when owners
are aboard is expected and this is happily provided at no additional cost.
Private Charter
Entertaining family, friends, or business associates aboard your boat can be an enjoyable and rewarding
experience for all. I am happy to take the helm so you can focus on your event. Discretion is an absolute
guarantee.
Survey Skipper
Brokers in the Sarasota/Bradenton/St Pete/Tampa/Clearwater area:
If the owner isn't available to drive for the survey and sea trial, I will be happy to do so.
My involvement is typically only half a day so I only charge $250.
Background
My family started boating when I was about ten years old. Over the decades, I have driven or crewed on boats
ranging from runabouts and pontoon boats to 35 foot commercial dive boats to 75 foot super yachts. Military service
instilled a strong sense of ethics. As a Coast Guard certified Master, you can rest assured I will take care of your
boat as if it were my very own.
I am a PADI Divemaster and certified in First Aid and CPR.
When I show up at your boat, I will arrive equipped with online charts, a flashlight, a multi-tool (pocket knife,
pliers, screwdriver, etc), a First Aid kit, and a handheld VHF radio in case the one on your boat should suddenly fail.
I am a non-smoker and drug free. While aboard and operating your boat, I do not drink.
